Under this guiding principle, the Center of Operations Research and Business Analytics (CORBA) at the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg has been founded as an association of application-oriented researchers. Our aim is to coordinate and promote trendsetting research in the fields of Operations Research and Business Analytics and to facilitate their use for the benefit of business and society.
Therefore, great importance is attached to a fruitful scientific exchange, which manifests itself by the regular attendance and organisation of scientific conferences, the publication of research results in the most relevant scientific journals, the close link to scientific associations, and the advice of the Advisory Board consisting of leading scientists in the fields of Operations Research and Business Analytics. To the same extent, great importance is attached to a value-creating cooperation with industrial and governmental partners. Together, we can usually achieve better decisions for their practical problems by application of the latest methods from Operations Research and Business Analytics. Finally, knowledge transfer takes place through the promotion and cooperation with emerging spin-offs of the Otto-von-Guericke University-Magdeburg and quantitative application-oriented teaching, always on the cutting edge of science.
